Zadroga Act & 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund Claims
We led the charge for over 9,000 sick 9/11 rescue and recovery workers.
Our law firm fought to obtain necessary compensation for those police officers, firefighters, construction workers, and office cleaners who worked so hard to rescue the wounded, recover those lost, and get New York, and our country, back on its feet. Our litigation efforts resulted in the recovery of nearly $1 billion for those workers who were diagnosed with various types of 9/11-related cancers, severe and debilitating respiratory illnesses, and other significant 9/11 injuries due to their exposure to the toxins at Ground Zero.
Our Role Continues in Helping 9/11 Victims
Our efforts in representing the seriously ill 9/11 victims as a result of their toxic exposure at Ground Zero continue. Unlike the initial Victim Compensation Fund, which operated until 2004, this iteration of the Fund, as reauthorized by the Zadroga Act, permits recovery by those individuals who not only participated in rescue and recovery operations, but also for anyone who lived, worked, or attended school in the New York City Exposure Zone (defined as any area south of Canal Street) between September 11, 2001 and May 30, 2002.

On behalf of our dear friend — and with immense personal gratitude — I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each of you for your professionalism, compassion, and tireless support over these past several months.
Thanks to your extraordinary efforts and guidance, our friend has not only received the critical financial support that will change her life, but she now has access to a medical team through the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund that she never could have imagined. As someone who gave so much of herself to care for others — including hundreds, if not thousands, of 9/11 first responders during the rescue and recovery efforts — this care and dignity finally being returned to her is nothing short of transformational.

Our 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund Lawyers Can Help
The Victim Compensation Fund (VCF) is still accepting claims. However, like any other claim for injuries, there are specific filing deadlines and eligibility requirements that must be met to qualify for compensation.
If you or a loved one were diagnosed with a cancer or a significant respiratory illness which you believe might be related to toxic exposure in Lower Manhattan during this time period -- or if a relative died under these circumstances – please contact our White Plains law office for a free consultation so that we may help you navigate the Zadroga (VCF) process.
